2 Women Arrested in Stolen Car After High Speed Chase

The driver of the vehicle sped through residential streets, drove through a backyard and drove into Geary Park, according to a report from Ferndale Police.

Ferndale Police arrested two women from Harper Woods early this morning after a three-minute high-speed chase.

Around 2:50 a.m. today, a Ferndale officer noticed what turned out to be a stolen Infinity driving west on Eight Mile Road without its lights on.

Police stopped the vehicle and it started to pull over before the driver then fled at high speeds, including driving the wrong way down Livernois.

According to a report from Ferndale Police, the driver then sped through residential streets, drove through a residential yard and drove into Geary Park.

After a three-minute high-speed chase, the two women in the car got out of the car and ran away through the park. They were then caught and arrested.

Police said the car had been stolen in Warren on April 30. 

Neither woman – one 17 years old, the other 19 – has a prior criminal history.

The case is being turned over to the prosecutor’s office to review charges and the women could be arraigned as early as this afternoon.
