Tomorrow night, the Ferndale Library, with Circulation Director Kelly Bennett hosting, continues its monthly local music showcase, featuring a pair of song-makers leaning towards more abstract sensibilities.
Sea Turtle Restoration Project and Sun Opener will perform in the Community Room, on the "First Friday" evening of November. The music they make will be beautiful in a stranger sort of way. You won't leave with any catchy choruses stuck in your head, no...there's is a more intriguing, perhaps enlightening, brand of music.
Maybe exploratory, is the best word. Jason Worden and Paul Macleod are exploring sound, manipulating curious sounds and layering/looping various elements for a dazzling effect
Thick atmospherics, evocative swells of ambient drones--both dreamy and dissonant; these two local music acts engage in sound sculpting. They're not out to give you an instantaneous, quick kicking guitar riff or some Beatles-esque beautiful melody, they're not going to blast four-on-the-floor beats to some danceable synthesizer storms.
That's about all we can say -about wordless music! Come explore!
