The time commitment varies depending on the age of the cats/kittens, you don't need to be home all day. A normal working/family schedule is just fine.

Can you foster just one kitten?

Yes, you can foster just one if we have a singleton available. We also have adult cats that can be fostered singly.

How long will the kittens be with the foster family?

Kittens can be put up for adoption as soon as they reach three pounds and can be spayed/neutered and fully vaccinated. The time it takes them to get there varies. We also like fosters to keep their cats/kittens until they are adopted directly or we have room at one of the Petco stores (Troy or Warren) to place them.

Do you need to have foster experience?

You do not need experience. We can help with anything you might not know and we're always available for questions or if fosters need help.

Why foster?

Every animal that is fostered saves two lives. The life of the animal being fostered and the one that will be able to take its place at the shelter. It's incredibly rewarding to be able to know you helped save lives and to watch your foster animal move on and find a loving home.
