Join us in providing help for domestic abuse victims

With the holiday shuffle right around the corner it is sometimes easy to forget the people in need. For many of us, the holidays consist of crafting memories with family and friends but, others live in a far different world. A world where family does not provide love or passion, but fear and danger.

Domestic abuse is a serious and real problem in our community. One out of every four women will experience some kind of domestic abuse in their lifetime. According to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, domestic violence is the third leading cause of homelessness.

In 2012, domestic violence help agencies in Michigan had over 2,400 calls in a single day. The hard truth is most domestic abuse is never reported to authorities.

Our organization is attempting to raise funds to help victims suffering from abuse who have no means of escaping the danger. Donations will go towards the purchase of a 132-apartment complex that will act as a safe-haven for victims. This includes one year of rent-free living and utilities, and 24-hour security and on-site management so safe housing can be provided at any hour.

The need is enormous and every dollar will go a long way. If you would like to contribute to our fundraiser campaign or would like additional information on domestic abuse please click here.
