Detroit Derby Girls Doubleheader

Detroit Derby Girls, Michigan’s premier female roller derby organization, keeps its 9th home season rolling with a doubleheader bout pitting the Pistolwhippers against the Devil’s Night Dames and the D*Funk Allstars against the Detroit Pistoffs at the Detroit Masonic Temple on November 16th.

Tickets available now at brownpapertickets.com. Tickets are $18 for adults. Kids 12 and under are free, limit two with each adult ticket. Doors open at 4:45 p.m. on October 12 with a game time of 6 p.m. for the first bout and 8 p.m. for the second bout. Afterparty will be held at Atwater Brewery at 237 Joseph Campau Ave, Detroit, MI 48207.

The 2012 match between the Devil’s Night Dames and the Pistolwhippers resulted in the Devil’s Night Dames’s first win in over 2 seasons, and they are eager to continue their streak, while the Pistolwhippers are not likely to let that come easily. This bout is sure to be a tooth and nail fight to the finish!

The D*Funk Allstars and the Detroit Pistoffs are former championship competitors, so they always bring the heat with a passionate bout when they meet in competition. Both teams are heavy on players from the league’s chartered national team, so the heavy-hitting is a staple that isn’t sure to lay off soon.

In addition to being a chance to watch a live action game of roller derby, there will be a canned food drive to support Gleaner’s Food Bank this holiday season with prizes available for those who bring non-perishable food items.
