Celiac Disease & Gluten Intolerance Talk by Dr. Guandalini

Dr. Stefano Guandalini will present to the Tri County Celiac Support Group on February 10, 2014 at 7pm at 26165 Farmington Rd, Farmington Hills, MI 48334(The First Presbyterian Church).  TCCSG Members are Free.  Guests are welcome at $5.00/person (tickets sold at the door the evening of the event).  Doors to open at 6:30pm. 

Dr. Guandalini will be presenting an update on celiac disease, gluten intolerance and other highlights from the International Celiac Disease Symposium held in Chicago, IL this past September.   Topics will include an update on a potential cure for celiac disease and research updates regarding gluten intolerances.  Participants will have an opportunity to ask questions, time permitting.  More info on www.tccsg.net

Stefano Guandalini, MD is the founder and medical director of The University of Chicago Celiac Disease Center.  He received his medical degree with high honors from The University of Messina, Italy, in 1971.  His scientific and professional career has focused on diarrheal diseases of children, with a major emphasis on celiac disease.  He joined The University of Chicago Department of Pediatrics in 1996, where he serves as chief of the Section of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition.  He is a Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Chicago.  Dr. Guandalini was president of the European Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (ESPGHAN) from 1998 to 2001, and was selected from a worldwide pool of candidates as the first president of the Federation of International Societies for Pediatric Gastroenterology Hepatology, and Nutrition (FISPGHAN).  Dr. Guandalini co-chaired the 2013 International Celiac Disease Symposium held September 2013 in Chicago, IL.  The International Celiac Disease Symposium is a bi-yearly conference of top international scientists, researchers and physicians focused on celiac disease.  The next ICDS conference is scheduled for 2015 in Prague, Czech Republic.      For more information, please visit www.tccsg.net
