This Week in Ferndale: School Board Meeting, Kindergarten Info Night and More

Find out what's happening this week in Ferndale.

School board meeting

The Ferndale Board of Education will meet for its annual organizational meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7 at the Harding Administration Center. This will be the first meeting with newly-elected school board members Amy Butters, Jim O'Donnell, Raylon Leaks-May and Kevin Deegan-Krause. You can find the agenda online here.

Drop-in basketball and volleyball

Adults ages 21 and older are invited to join in drop-in basketball and volleyball starting Monday, Jan. 7 at the Kulick Community Center. Basketball is held 6-8 p.m. Mondays, and volleyball is 6-8 p.m. Wednesdays. The cost is $4 per visit or $10 for a five-visit pass.

Foreclosure education workshop

A foreclosure education workshop will be held at the Ferndale Public Library at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8. Attendees will have the opportunity to speak with a certified housing counselor. Kindergarten Information Night

Ferndale Schools is hosting a 2013 Kindergarten Information Night from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 9 at Grant Early Childhood Center. Parents and children are invited to learn about kindergarten, enjoy treats and meet teachers, principals and current parents. Parents can also get information about enrollment. Neighborhood meeting

A meeting of the Dales Neighborhood group will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9 at the Digital Learning Center. The group will discuss how to grow, finalize geographical boundaries, confirm its group name and more. Find the Facebook event page here.
