Snow Emergency Declared in Ferndale

Vehicles are to remain off the streets until plow trucks have gone through the area.

Ferndale is one of many communities in the area that has declared a snow emergency as of Wednesday evening, according to a list at clickondetroit.com.

Parking on city streets is prohibited during a snow emergency, and vehicles parked on the street may be ticketed. A snow emergency is declared when four or more inches has accumulated in one hour or more, according to the city's web site.

A snow emergency remains in effect until your street is clear curb-to-curb, or until the Director of Public Services cancels it.

Residents who don't have a driveway can obtain a permit to park on the street by contacting the Ferndale Department of Public Works at 248-546-2519.
