Photo Gallery: Drayton Preschool Holds First Mom-to-Mom Sale

Mothers from nearby cities gather at the Ferndale school to trade items.

Ferndale's held its first Mom-to-Mom Sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

With new and gently used children's toys, clothing, strollers, accessories and even a table full of Halloween decorations, the event provided shoppers with a large selection.

"I think sales like this are great because kids outgrow clothes fast and outgrow toys fast, so I think it's a really good idea," Royal Oak resident Jackie Southern said as she shopped.

All shoppers were asked to bring either a can of food or a small monetary donation in order to enter the sale. All funds generated from admission will go toward the Michigan-based Inside America Foundation, which serves food to those in need. Vendors at the sale also were allowed to donate unsold items to the organization, if desired.

The preschool plans to hold another Mom-to-Mom Sale next summer.
