Monday, May 27 is Memorial Day - a federal holiday that serves as a day of remembering those who have died while serving in the United States Armed Forces.

Royal Oak

• What: Annual Royal Oak Memorial Day Parade
• When: 9 a.m. Monday, May 27
• Where: Parade begins near Main Street and Harrison and will head north on Main Street to Second Street, then east to the Royal Oak Veterans Memorial where the traditional post-parade Memorial Service will be held.

• What: Ferndale's 95th Annual Memorial Day Parade
• When: 10 a.m. Monday, May 27
• Where: The parade begins at Livernois, just north of W. Nine Mile Road. It concludes with a program held at the city's Memorial Mall, which is located on Livernois, two blocks south of W. Nine Mile Road.

Birmingham

• What: Memorial Day Ceremony
• When: 10 a.m. Monday, May 27

Clawson

• What: Memorial Day Ceremony
• When: 10-11 a.m. Monday, May 27
• Where: Library Gazebo, 416 N. Main Street in Clawson
• Details: Annual parade will not be held however the American Legion will host a ceremony including a 21-gun salute at the library gazebo.

Rochester-Rochester Hills

• What: Memorial Day Parade
• When: Starts 9:15 a.m. Monday, May 27 at Mt. Avon Cemetery in Rochester. Parade starts at 10 a.m. Ceremonies end at Veterans Memorial Point at Livernois and Adams in Rochester Hills.
• Where: Mt. Avon Cemetery, Veterans Memorial Point.
• Details: Event starts at Mt. Avon Cemetery and parade goes to Veterans Memorial Point in Rochester Hills for closing ceremonies.

Lake Orion

• What: Lake Orion Memorial Day Parade
• When: 1 p.m. Monday, May 27
• Where: Annual Memorial Day dedication service is held at the Orion Veterans Memorial.
• Details: Ceremony to acknowledge all military service personnel both living and deceased.

Troy

• What: Troy Memorial Day Observance
• When:11 a.m. until noon Monday, May 27
• Where: Veterans Memorial Plaza in front of Troy City Hall.
