Many folks already have had their wishes fulfilled, whether it was the dusting of snow that fell overnight Saturday creating the hint of a white Christmas, the Detroit Lions' 38-10 win over the San Diego Chargers, which catapulted the team into the playoffs, or gifts left under the tree by Santa Claus for the little ones.
For others, the holiday is more of a spiritual celebration with services being held in Ferndale and other nearby communities.
