Green Tuesday Seminar Series to Offer Tips on Saving Money this Winter

A special seminar discussing winterizing a home will be held Tuesday at the Ferndale Public Library.

It’s common knowledge that with the cold winter descending upon us, our heating bills will start to surge.

If you are interested in tips on how to save money while still staying warm, head over to the from 6:30-8 p.m. Tuesday to learn how to properly weatherize your home for the winter.

Jacob Corvidae of Detroit-based WARM Training Center, a nonprofit organization, will speak about free and inexpensive approaches to conserving energy around the home during the upcoming months. Topics to be discussed include air-sealing techniques and tools, insulation, improvements to furnace and water heaters, energy use behavior and much more.

The lecture is part of the Ferndale Environmental Sustainability Commission’s Green Tuesday Seminar Series, which exists to provide residents with the information they need to become more environmentally conscious.
