Cost: $4 per child 9 months and older per visit. Five visits for $10 and 10 visits for $20.
Why go: You and your future kindergartener can ask questions, explore, meet the principal, teachers and other parents and children and have a pizza dinner.

Discover Water
Why go: Water is everywhere and wonderful. Take part in a free family reading and science workshop at the Oak Park Library. You can be a resident of another city to participate. For children age 6 and older with a parent or guardian.
Where: Oak Park Library, Oak Park
When: 7 p.m. Monday.
Cost: Free
What else: The next Family Reading and Science Workshop is March 21. Sign up for a free field trip to the Exhibit Museum of Natural History in Ann Arbor for Water Discovery Day, 9 a.m.- 5 p.m. March 26 with transportation from the Oak Park Library.
Why go: Attention Dinophiles! This is the largest animatronic dinosaur exhibit ever to come to Metro Detroit. There are 24 growling, charging, burbling beasts, plus five full-sized skeletons and nearly 40 fossils replicas and eggs.
Where: Detroit Science Center, Detroit
When: Open 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, noon-6 p.m. Sunday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday- Feb 25. Then the hours revert to 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday-Friday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, 12-6 p.m. Sunday until June when there are more days. The exhibit runs until Sept. 5.
Cost: $19.95 adults, $17.95 children ages 2-12 and seniors. The ticket is for the exhibit and also for Dinosaurs Alive in the IMAX Theatre and The Dinosaur Planet in the Planetarium.

Dralion - Cirque Du Soleil
Why go: If you like circuses, you’ll be inspired by Cirque Du Soleil’s Dralion. The name Dralion is a mixture of Dragon, representing the East, and Lion, representing the West. This is a show that uses Chinese circus traditions and fuses them with the avant-guard traditions of Cirque Du Soleil. The international cast features 52 acrobats, gymnasts, musicians, singers and comedic characters.
Where: Joe Louis Arena, Detroit
When: 7:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, 3:30 and 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 1 and 5 p.m. Sunday.
Cost: $35-$95. Buy one ticket get a ticket half off for these shows: 7:30 p.m.Wednesday and Thursday, 1 and 5 p.m. Saturday. Discounts for students and military, groups, Family Four Pack.
