UPDATE: Power Nearly Fully Restored in Ferndale after Afternoon Outage

Nearly 900 were without power today in Ferndale due to what could have been the weather, DTE Spokesman Scott Simons said.

After nearly 900 were reported to be without power in Ferndale, nearly all of them are fully restored, according to the DTE Energy outage map as of Monday evening.

Power outages were being reported in Ferndale during a stormy Monday afternoon.

Around 2 p.m., residents started commenting on the Ferndale Patch Facebook page that power was going out.

DTE Spokesman Scott Simons originally said that less than 99 customers were without power Ferndale, but shortly after, however, the DTE Energy outage map reported nearly 900 outages as of 2:30 p.m. Monday.

The areas affected appear to be east of Woodward Avenue and along Hilton, from Woodward Heights to Eight Mile Road.

Simons said that "nothing major" had occurred. He didn't have an exact reason for the outage but said that it "could be weather-related."
