25 Ferndale Parcels in County Tax Forfeit Auction Aug. 16

Twenty Five properties are up for grabs in Ferndale at the County auction.

Twenty five local properties will go on sale at 9 a.m. Tuesday in the Oakland County Board of Commissioners Auditorium, 1200 N. Telegraph in Pontiac.

All properties are being foreclosed on in their third year of delinquent property taxes.

In order to bid, you must register with the County Treasurer's office, which can be done the day of the auction. In addition, it's the bidder's responsibility to learn from the city in which the property is located whether it is slated for demolition, has environmental damage, is obligated with special assessments or has other issues.

The lowest minimum bid is $2,600.99 for the property located at 1604 Jewell St.

Some of the properties include vacant residential lots -- one minimum bid is as low as $418.

There is also one commercial property located at 1021 Livernois St. with a minimum bid set at $51,977.72.
