First Stop Friday at the Library: Elemental and Bastion

Cerebral Palsy Fundraiser in Hazel Park

  • What: A hockey match to benefit the Metro Detroit chapter of United Cerebral Palsy.
  • When: 4 p.m. Saturday
  • Where: Hazel Park Viking Arena Ice Skating Rink, 1555 E. Woodward Heights Blvd., Hazel Park
  • Cost: $10
  • What else: Niki Cassavoy will play hockey against her son, Holden, who has cerebral palsy. They’ll spar on ice, both seated in sleds to even the playing field, as a team of able-bodied players goes stick to stick against incredibly talented athletes with disabilities. The event precedes a Detroit Red Wings alumni face-off against the United Cerebral Palsy Pucksters in an effort to raise funds for the Metro Detroit chapter of United Cerebral Palsy. The Smiths United at Rust Belt Market

  • What: The Smiths United, a tribute band made up of five loyal Smiths/Morrissey fans, will perform.
