Vehicle Punches Hole into Cinder Block Wall in Dunkin' Donuts' Parking Lot

The business will have to make repairs and clean up the debris, Ferndale Department of Public Works director says.

Details are scant on why there is a hole in the cinder block wall of parking lot on Woodward Avenue.

Ferndale's Department of Public Works Director Byron Photiades said a vehicle had driven through the barrier that divides the alley and Dunkin' Donuts' northern parking lot "a few days ago."

Dunkin' Donuts representatives have yet to be reached for comment.

Photiades said the subsequent cleanup is Dunkin' Donuts' responsibility. He said that code enforcement should be putting the business on notice to get the wall repaired and the alley cleaned up.

Ferndale's Community Development Service Director Derek Delacourt supervises Ferndale's code enforcement officers. Delacourt was unavailable for comment.

Photiades said that damage to the cinder block wall is not uncommon.

"This is not the first time this has happened," he said. "It has happened a number of times."

Ferndale Police Lt. Detective William Wilson and Ferndale Fire Marshal Brian Batten said they were unaware of the incident.
