Photo Gallery: Fido Does Ferndale, Despite 100-Degree Heat and a Power Outage

The dogs came out for the 4th Annual Fido Does Ferndale on Thursday, just as the heat was nearly 100 degrees and the city was in the midst of a power outage.

The heat and the outage didn't stop the dogs and their owners from coming up to enjoy one of downtown Ferndale's cutest event.

Yes, cutest.

Ferndale's Downtown Development Authority organizes the event, inviting owners to bring their dogs downtown to enjoy special events, a fashion show and a number of doggie-specific vendors (and cats, too).

Yet, on Thursday, Ferndale was in the midst of a power outage and, not to mention, nearly 100-degree temperatures. But no matter: the dogs were out, as well as two adoptable cats.

The event raises funds for a "Fido Fountain" in Schiffer Park at West Nine Mile and Planavon. The donations haven't been completely tallied yet, thought the DDA said the donation total should be in later this week.
