Nominate the Best Annual Event in Ferndale

Let us know which annual event is the best in Ferndale so we can put it to a vote and name a Readers’ Choice 2012 winner.

What's the best event in Ferndale?

Patch is relaunching its Readers’ Choice program and we’re asking you, your friends, family, neighbors, coworkers and anyone else who knows about Ferndale to nominate the best annual event in town.

We’ll keep accepting nominations through July 9. After that, nominations will be closed and we’ll start the voting, so make sure to get in your favorites now.

All you need to do to nominate a business is to add it in the comments below. If you already see the business you want to nominate, make sure to add your comment about why it should be included, because we may not be able to add all businesses to our poll and we want to make sure the top ones make it into the poll.

Thanks in advance for your participation.

Sign up for the Ferndale Patch Newsletter to find out when voting starts so you can support your favorite local businesses when the voting begins.

Love the Blues Festival... Perfect time of year for a party (nothing else going on) with a huge BBQ cook-off on the last day. who would of thought a BBQ would be a good idea in the Winter. Helps that the money goes to local charities.

D.I.Y. Festival: These three days have everything I love about Ferndale. Unique art, vintage clothes, awesomely cool people (of all ages), great food/beer, edgy music and reasonable prices.

D.I.Y. FESTIVAL is my favorite for so many reasons, best time to be outdoors, watching new youth bands, the unique art makes this an event for all ages.

The FESC is an important steward of the City’s environmental values and goals, and its membersRead More have performed valuable education programming and environmental policy support on behalf of all Ferndale residents. It was clear, however, the FESC and the city needed to revisit the mission and vision to make sure the group was focused on activities that could make the greatest impact. I worked with the FESC to brainstorm a new mission and purpose ideas with members and helped rewrite the draft ordinance in a collaborative effort with FESC and city staff. I'm happy to say we've made steady progress; last night the city manager and I met with FESC members to review the new ordinance language, and the group's renewel request will come to council on June 24th. Together, we had a great meeting and I believe FESC members are excited about the clearer alignment between FESC interests and the City’s environmental goals. Yes, it did take a bit longer than anticipated, but in the end I believe we'll have a stronger direction for FESC for years to come.

Here is a great idea: Let's not have the city automatically water its lawns after two days of rain.Read More That would save water, reduce costs, and not contribute to increased storm water runoff.
