John D Bistro Celebrates Fridays, Domino's Opens and More Restaurant News

John D Bistro in Ferndale: The restaurant that opened in March 2012 in the former Club Bart location at 22726 Woodward Ave. has launched "Celebrate Fridays," which features upscale dining and dancing. John D Bistro specializes in modern-style American foods. Call 248-398-4070 for more information.

Domino's Pizza in Royal Oak: The chain opened at 1312 E. 11 Mile Road on Dec. 30. The location delivers to the entire city and beyond – from 14 Mile Road to 9 Mile Road, north and south; John R to Coolidge Highway, east and west. Store hours are 11 a.m. - midnight Monday through Thursday; 11 a.m. - 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday; 11 a.m. - 11 p.m. Sunday.

Trader Joe's in Bloomfield Township: A new location opened Tuesday at the Bloomfield Plaza at the corner of Telegraph and Maple roads. It is open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. Click here to learn how to win $50 toward your next purchase at the grocery chain.

Tilted Kilt Pub in Novi: The new pub and eatery opened Dec. 1 in the Fountain Walk. It features 30 draft beers on tap including local beers such as Short's Soft Parade, Fat Tire and Magic Hat #9. The female servers, who wear plaid kilts, are a big part of the Tilted Kilt experience. There also are more than 50 televisions at the restaurant. Appetizers start around $7 and most of the burgers and entrees are $10 to $15. Call 248-374-4990 for more information.

Flat Top Grill in Rochester Hills: The build-your-own-stir-fry restaurant that opened in September 2011 at the Village of Rochester Hills closed its doors this week "due to economic factors," according to marketing director Jillian Beard. Flat Top served lunch and dinner; a full bar was located inside the restaurant.

Chapman's Mill in Rochester Hills: The restaurant located at Crooks and Hamlin roads that was created to honor the area's industrial era history by paying homage to the woolen mill has closed. Chapman's Mill was known for its burgers. A sign posted on the restaurant's front door blames the economy and ongoing road construction for the closure.

Clubhouse BFD in Rochester Hills: Draft Magazine's "America's 100 Best Beer Bars" list for 2013, which was released this week, includes one of the city's newest bars, which opened in February near Crooks and M-59. Clubhouse has 40 beers on tap and will expand to 46 in April; it also offers about 190 craft beers. The menu features 14 entrees, eight small plates along with soups and salads.
