'It's Going to be Real Chill': Wheels & Wine is Tonight

Join Downtown Ferndale Bike Shop owner Jon Hughes on a bicycle cruise through the city, followed by drinks and appetizers at Winezilla, during the May 16 fundraiser to support public art.

Organizers of tonight's Wheels & Wine event invite you to join them for a leisurely bike ride, followed by drinks, to raise funds for public art in downtown Ferndale.

The free bike ride leaves at 6 p.m. from the Downtown Ferndale Bike Shop; the wine tasting, which will include samples from B. Nektar Meadery and appetizers from Ferndale restaurants, begins at 6:30 p.m. at Winezilla and costs $20.

"This is a great opportunity to not only enjoy a beautiful night downtown but to meet your neighbor in a partyish setting plus get an introduction to two downtown business owners – Ed Bosse of Winezilla and Jon Hughes of the Downtown Ferndale Bike Shop," says the Ferndale Downtown Development Authority, which organized the event.

"It's going to be a cool little ride, a lot of fun. Everyone's invited," added Hughes, who will lead the bicycle tour. "We're just going to cruise around Ferndale, ride all the bike lanes. It's going to be real chill, 45 minutes to an hour."

Tickets are available at the DDA office at 149 W. Nine Mile Road or at Winezilla at 155 W. Nine Mile. Call 248-546-1632 for more information.
