HenriettaHaus Coffee Roasters Makes Final Round of Hatch Detroit Voting

The Rust Belt Market vendor is among the top four contestants; voting is open until 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, and the winner will be announced the next day.

HenriettaHaus Coffee Roasters, a vendor at The Rust Belt Market in Ferndale, has made it into the final round of Hatch Detroit voting.

"HenriettaHaus Coffee Roasters is a top four Finalist!!" The Rust Belt Market posted Wednesday on Facebook. "With Rock City Pies making the top four last year that makes two years in a row The Rust Belt Market has incubated strong businesses worthy of many votes in this great contest. PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO VOTE ONCE A DAY for one more week!"

Hatch Detroit is a small business incubator that lets voters determine which contestant will receive funding, exposure, education and mentoring.

HenriettaHaus Coffee Roasters founder Amy Duncan lives in Wyandotte and has been at The Rust Belt Market since its third weekend open (in 2011).

"I had been looking for a spot to open my business for a few years before The Rust Belt Market opened," she said. "My biggest roadblock had been landlords. Every time I would find a space I liked something would go wrong and I'd be looking again. I had been following the development of the Rust Belt Market and thought it looked like an awesome idea."

Hatch Detroit voting is open until 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, and the winner will be announced the next day. Click here to vote.
