Ferndale DDA Seeks Blowout Volunteers

A fundraiser to benefit ARTWN, a public art initiative, will be held during the local music festival May 2-4 at The Rust Belt Market.

The Ferndale Downtown Development Authority needs volunteers to help out May 2-4 at The Rust Belt Market during the Metro Times Blowout, which will come to Ferndale for the first time this year.

The 16th annual local music festival kicks off April 25 in Detroit, continues April 26-27 in its traditional Hamtramck home and wraps up next weekend in Ferndale.

"Help us raise funds for ARTWN (pronounced Art Town), a public art initiative for Downtown Ferndale. All funds raised at the bar inside the Rust Belt Market goes towards the legacy of public art," the DDA website says. "Volunteers are needed for tending bar, selling drink tickets, checking id's, managing the bar area and ensuring visitors to Downtown Ferndale have rockin' good time."
