FernCare to Show Off its New Home in Open House on Saturday

Clinic celebrates its new space in Ferndale.

After a long three years of fundraising, FernCare Free Clinic has finally settled into its .

Having operated a temporary clinic at the  since 2010, FernCare provides medical services to patients ages 19-64 who are uninsured. The clinic’s new location on East Nine Mile Road will open its doors to the public Saturday for a daylong open house.

From 11 a.m.-4 p.m., guests are invited to tour the renovated interior of the building, which is owned by . More than 85 percent of the $230,000 renovation costs and volunteer hours brought the project's cost down to about $30,000.

Invited guests to Saturday’s event include Congressman Sander Levin, Credit Union ONE CEO Gary Moody, Ferndale Mayor Dave Coulter and FernCare President Ann Heler.

FernCare is looking for medical volunteers, as well as those who are interested in assisting with fundraising efforts.
