Detroit Urban Craft Fair Applications Available This Week

Crafters and indie artists can apply for the eighth annual event beginning Thursday, Aug. 1, according to sponsor Handmade Detroit.

Applications for the eighth annual Detroit Urban Craft Fair will be made available this week, sponsor Handmade Detroit announced Monday on Facebook.

The juried event will feature 100 crafters and indie artists selling their handmade wares from 10 a.m to 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, at the Masonic Temple in Detroit. Applications will be available beginning Thursday, Aug. 1, according to sponsor Handmade Detroit.

Handmade Detroit is a Michigan indie crafting hub co-founded by Ferndale resident Carey Gustafson.

"(DUCF) vendors who make and sell their own original, handmade craft products or handmade supplies and pre-packaged craft food products are invited to apply," according to the event website. "Part of what makes DUCF unique is the interaction between maker and buyer, so we require makers to be present on the sale day. Do not apply if you will not be able to attend the entire weekend."

Ferndale vendors have been well represented at the event in the past.

The deadline to apply is midnight Sept. 25; applicants will receive a response by Oct. 15.
