Water

  • Week of May 20: Water service WILL be interrupted on Thursday or Friday for businesses between Pinecrest and Kenton, AND all residential homes on Kenton. Final testing and connection to the new line will be performed. Businesses & residents will be notified 24 hours in advance of service interruptions. Water interruptions may last up to 4 hours.
  • Cross Nine connecting pipes will begin at end of week May 20th for businesses between Kenton and Beaufield. Final connection, which will interrupt water service, will be made at Beaufield week of May 28th, Tuesday/Wednesday that week. All businesses between Kenton and Beaufield, AND all residential homes on Beaufield will experience water interruptions up to 4 hours.

Construction

  • Construction starts at Pinecrest and will move easterly to completion at Planavon.
  • Crews are digging, laying pipe and back filling daily. There should NOT be any holes at day's end. If you notice anything, please contact us.
  • The timetable on cross Nine connections depends on testing and approval.  Once pronounced safe, the connections will be made.
  • Cross Nine connecting will add to traffic backups and drivers will be redirected by flagmen.
  • Notable: Temporary closure of sidewalks and driveway approaches may be required as the contractor works through each driveway. This should be only for a short duration of time.
  • Prepping for curbs week of May 20.
  • Concrete curb pouring will begin week of May 28th starting at Pinecrest. It takes 5 days for the concrete to cure, so please be aware that access to your business may be altered (partial closures to drives) – but still available.

Traffic

  • Although reduced to two lines, the traffic IS flowing, sometimes slowly.
  • Traffic light signaling issues at Livernois have been resolved.
  • Livernois on the north side of West Nine IS now closed to through traffic. Emergency vehicles ONLY will be allowed access.
  • Kenton, Beaufield and Dover are now blocked to West Nine traffic.
  • Traffic will be periodically impacted as cross-road connections are made to the newly installed water main. Traffic will be slowed at crossing points today at Kenton and Beaufield the week of May 20th.
  • REMEMBER – south side alley from Livernois to Beaufield is ONE WAY ONLY, going west.
  • Temporary and partial closure of drive approaches will occur.
  • NO PARKING ON-STREET between Allen and Pinecrest.
