Conan O'Brien Gets Night Light Made By Ferndale Stained Glass Artist

Carey Gustafson, owner of Glass Action in Ferndale, made a Conan O'Brien night light that was recently delivered to the late-night host.

A famous TV host's nights may be a little brighter – literally – thanks to Ferndale-based stained glass artist .

Gustafson made the Conan O'Brien night light seen here and now it's in the hands of the late-night comedian himself.

"One of the things that has gotten pretty popular I love to make are portrait night lights," said Gustafson, who started a line of glass items called Glass Action in 2005. She sells her work at art shows, local shops and etsy.com.

A longtime Conan fan, Gustafson designed this particular night light to submit to a fan-art section of O'Brien's website, where the submission was rated among the top three on the site. Soon she was contacted by the comedian's staff to send the night light for use in a gallery show in New York, where O'Brien was taping a series of shows.

A few months later, friends of Gustafson in the local band Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. were booked to appear on the show and offered to bring a Conan night light with them to personally give to the host.

"I couldn't resist," Gustafson said. "And not only were they kind enough to do that, Conan was awesome enough to pose with it with the lights on and off."

The band presented it to O'Brien before the taping Monday. So where is the night light now?

"I hear he liked it and said to tell me 'thank you' and if it's in the green room's bathroom I would be honored!" she said.
