Chulbu'ul Mexican Grill in Farmington: The restaurant opened Friday at 32736 Grand River. Its menu includes burritos, burrito bowls, salads, quesadillas and tacos. Prices range from $6.25 to $6.75 for regular menu items; $3.25 to $3.75 for kids' menu items. All of the ingredients are prepared fresh daily. Crush Bistro in Birmingham: The restaurant that is looking to move into the bottom level of the 555 building on South Old Woodward received the Planning Board's approval Wednesday night. Crush would be owned by the team behind Sinbads Restaurant in Detroit, including owner Marc Blancke and executive chef John Fleming. The cuisine would be a mix of seafood and other hearty dishes, such as steak and chicken ciabatti sandwiches. Dozens of wines, served by the glass and bottle, are also on the menu. The plans will now go to the City Commission in February for final approval.

Ferndale Public House in Ferndale: The City Council approved a redevelopment liquor license Monday night for the new restaurant being planned at 241 W. Nine Mile Road in the former space of Josephine's Creperie and Bistro, which has been closed since January 2011. Ferndale Public House is being opened by the owners of Woodward Imperial, a new taco bar that opened earlier this year. The American-style menu will include fresh, locally sourced and affordable choices, including vegetarian options. Proposed hours are 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Monday through Sunday.

IHOP in Novi: The breakfast restaurant plans to open a location at Novi Road and Grand River Avenue, IHOP Media Representative Craig Hoffman says. Construction has yet to begin on the site, so the opening date is unknown.

The Carriage House in Rochester: Visitors to the city's first bed and breakfast will enjoy a gourmet morning meal in a large sunroom overlooking the garden. "Everything will be organic, nothing processed," owner Donald Jagoda said. The signature item on the menu will be Jagoda's gluten-free power pancakes. The Carriage House is located at 147 North Lane, off of Rochester Road, just south of Tienken.

Pronto! Corner Store in Royal Oak: Nothing says Merry Christmas like a fruitcake. But who likes fruitcake really? Especially since Pronto! offers more than 150 varieties of nostalgic candies, gift baskets and baked goods. Located at southwest corner of Washington and Sixth Street, the retailer also has a variety of Michigan-made jams, butter and syrups. Pronto! is open Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday, 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
