Ferndale Dog Day Care Offers Playdates, First Aid Class

Canine to Five has three playdates and a first aid class scheduled for March.

Canine to Five, the new dog day care and boarding facility that opened in Ferndale last month, is planning three playdates and a pet first aid class coming up next month.

The dog playdates will be held on the following dates:

  • March 7, 7-9 p.m. - All dogs playdate
  • March 14, 7-9 p.m. - Small dogs playdate
  • March 28, 7-9 p.m. - All dogs playdate

The cost is $5 per dog, or $7 for two dogs from the same family. The playdates are open to all friendly, vaccinated dogs. If they are not an existing Canine To Five customer they need to bring up-to-date vaccination records.

The pet first aid class will be held from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, taught by an expert from a dog training facility in Shelby Township. It will include information on common injuries such as cuts, scrapes, worn pads, broken nails nails and more.

Canine to Five owner Liz Blondy said the class would be helpful for active dog owners and those who go to the dog park often.

"Active dogs have a greater chance of being injured, and this class will prepare owners to deal with minor and major injuries until they can get their dog to a vet," Blondy said.
