Your guide to St. Patrick's Day green beer hot spots.

As many bars turn Irish for St. Patrick’s Day, there is some debate among the bars and pubs about the authenticity of a St. Paddy's Day favorite: green beer.

While many bars are contemplating whether they will sell green goods on this special green day, we visited Ferndale bars to ask how green will their beer be on March 17.

“Everyone has their own business and you can’t tell them what to do with their business, but I will have green beer on St. Patrick’s Day,” said Danny Reedy owner of Danny’s Irish Pub.

Reedy has been in Ferndale for 25 years and said he has seen the holiday go from having a bad rep to being “a lot more responsible" in the city.

“It’s wonderful to be Irish on St. Patrick’s Day and everyone is out to have a good time.”
