7 Things to Do in Ferndale on Saturday, Jan. 19

1. Kids Corner: Parents can bring their little ones to the Kulick Center from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday for Kids Corner. Meet other parents and carry an adult conversation while providing your child with an opportunity to play with other kids and with lots of toys. $4 per child. Get all the details here.

2. Welcome new library director: The Friends of the Ferndale Library are hosting a reception to welcome of the Ferndale Public Library. The event will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday at the library. Light refreshments will be served and all are invited to attend.

3. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration: The Ferndale High School Dance Team will perform during the 23rd Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration at the Royal Oak Township Community Center at 1 p.m. Saturday. The center is located at 21272 Mendota in Ferndale. More info here.

4. WSPR launch concert: New Ferndale-based PR company Workspace PR (WSPR) is hosting a free concert at the Loving Touch on Saturday night to launch their new PR "collective." Bands include Bars of Gold, Silent Lions, Phantom Cats and Nice Hooves. Find more information here.

5. When the Rain Stops Falling: At the Ringwald Theatre now through Feb. 28; 8 p.m. on Saturdays and 3 p.m. Sundays. Go Comedy All Star Showdown: Play as big a role as you want during short improv games, challenges and more in this interactive, improvised game show, billed as "one part 'Whose Line is it Anyway,' and one part 'Match Game PM'."
