One-Eyed Betty's to Host Folk Fest on Saturday

Free event will be held Saturday, March 30.

Ferndale-based booking agency Blaring Division and One-Eyed Betty's will present a Folk Fest starting at 9 p.m. Saturday, March 30.

The show is free and will feature an eclectic blend of musicians from the Ferndale and Detroit area.

The artists, listed below, all share common ground with acoustic instrumentation but stylistically range form traditional to alternative folk.

Lac LA Belle: an acoustic duo that juxtaposes the early decades of recorded rural American music with decaying Rustbelt aesthetic.

Josh Malerman: an adventure-clown, a mad-thriller, part super-villian, part rose. Singer/songwriter of the High Strung (who penned and perform the theme song for Showtime's hit show 'Shameless') Malerman's novel Bird Box was picked up by HarperCollins for publication as well as Universal Studios for the film rights.

The Metro Times said Malerman's album 'Preposterous!' was like "another kind of Emily Dickinson, pulled from another dimension."

Ryan Dillaha: Considered a hometown hero, Dillaha's genre breaking acoustic ensembles attract many from audiences of blues, folk, Americana and modern indie rock.
