In cooperation with the Ferndale Downtown Development Authority, the Ferndale Environmental Sustainability Commission (FESC) presents the third annual Ferndale Green Week, a week-long environmental celebration in Ferndale!
Events every day from April 16 to April 22, which is Earth Day.
SATURDAY

SUNDAY
The Sierra Club Green Cruise presents Spring Bicycle Ride. It starts at 10 a.m. at the , 163 W. Nine Mile Rd. Participants will ride 20 miles at easy to moderate pace. Helments are required and 16 years old and up. There will be free bicycle checkups at the Downtown Ferndale Bike Shop from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. will also be giving out free massagesa t the bike shop from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. is providing free bananass.
MONDAY
The Sierra Club presents the film Dirty Business: "Clean Coal" and the Battle for Our Energy Future at 7:30 p.m. at the , 222 E. 9 Mile Rd. FYI: The library is showing a green-themed movie every Monday in April
Monday is also Garden Day! The Ferndale Beautification Commission presents Propagation by Cuttings. It'll be a demonstration on how to increase your supply of flowers in the garden by utilizing cuttings . It's at 6:30-8 p.m. at the .
TUESDAY
FESC presents Water Conservation...Money in Your Pocket, a special Green Tuesday presentation at the Ferndale Public Library from 6:30-8 p.m. Mr. Rain Barrel will be on hand to answer questions about using rain barrels.
WEDNESDAY
The Southeastern Oakland County Water Authority (SOCWA) presents a hands-on eco project for kids at 4 p.m. You must pre-register at the Ferndale Public Library by calling 248.546.2504.
There will also be a special Green Week family storytime featuring environmental songs by Joe Reilly at 6:15 p.m. at the Ferndale Public Library.

THURSDAY
It's local day so spend the day discovering Ferndale's diversified community of stores, restaurants and nightlife! And be sure to get to the Ferndale Public Library to join Penchansky Whisler Architects, the firm that designed the new "green" library as they present Green Aspects of the Library with a tour of the green areas of the library to follow. Event starts at 6:30 p.m.
Transition Ferndale will also be presenting a special film, Fresh, with a discussion to follow. Movie starts at 7 p.m. at the library.
FRIDAY
Today is the 41st Earth Day! A celebration party at The Loving Touch will take place. Doors at 7 p.m. The party will include free local, healthy food, free chair massages, prize giveaways, the FESC Ferndale Green Business of the Year Awards, a special Sierra Club and Beer gathering, plus more!
Treat Dreams will have free ice cream including a special Sierra Club flavor and a Vegan flavor.
