Book Launch Party for Local Author

Local author Donald Levin is celebrating the release of his new mystery, CRIMES OF LOVE, at a book launch party held at the Lawrence Street Gallery in Ferndale on Saturday, January 21, 2012, from 2 till 4 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

 

Levin will read from the book and sign copies, which will be available for purchase. Wine and cheese and other refreshments will be served.

Set in and around Ferndale, CRIMES OF LOVE follows police detective Martin Preuss on a frantic search for a seven-year-old girl with epilepsy who has disappeared from the streets of Ferndale. Unwilling to let go after the Oakland County Sheriff's Office takes the case from his agency, he strikes out on his own, summoning all his skills and resources to solve the many crimes of love he uncovers.

An award-winning fiction writer and poet, Ferndale resident Donald Levin is also the author of THE HOUSE OF GRINS (1992), a novel; and two books of poetry, IN PRAISE OF OLD PHOTOGRAPHS (2005) and NEW YEAR’S TANGERINE (2007). Widely published as a poet, he is professor of English and chair of the Department of English and Modern Languages at Marygrove College in Detroit and lives in Ferndale. He has just finished the first draft of the second Martin Preuss mystery.
