  • All actors must sing one of two songs from the show Pinocchio, either “When You Wish Upon a Star (Star)” or “I’ve Got No Strings.” The music for both songs is included in this pdf. For “Star,” be prepared to sing the chorus (marked by an asterisk). If you are auditioning for a lead role, be prepared to sing both songs. This audition sheet music is also available for pick up at the Village Players box office. The box office is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:30 until 3:30.
  • All actors will participate in a short dance auditions. The dance will be taught at the beginning of auditions on Saturday, September 29 (approximately 10:00 a.m.).
  • Please dress in clothing and footwear that shows you at your best and is easy to move in.  Please no flip-flops, Uggs, etc. - wear closed-toe shoes that allow movement.  We encourage proper “audition etiquette,” so dress comfortably but appropriately.

Rehearsal Schedule: Rehearsals begin on October 3. Rehearsals will be held Monday and Wednesdays from 4:30 – 6:30 and Saturdays from 10:00 – 1:00. There is no rehearsal on October 31 (Halloween) or November 21 or 24 (Thanksgiving). Conflicts: We will consider conflicts noted at the time of audition; please be prepared to list all conflicts on September 29. All rehearsals are held at the playhouse of the Birmingham Village Players (34660 Woodward Ave., Birmingham, MI 48009), unless otherwise announced.

Parental Involvement: The Village Youth Theatre is a community theatre that depends on the support of volunteers to support all aspects of the production including set construction and painting, sewing and altering of costumes, props acquisition, and stage management.  Additionally, ushers, hair and makeup assistance, backstage supervision, set support and concessionaires are needed for all dress rehearsals and performances. Cast members are required to have a family member work two performances or dress rehearsals.  Also, all cast members and one family member must help with production strike on December 9. There are two mandatory parent meetings, October 6 (10:00 a.m.) and Sunday, December 2 (1:00 p.m.)
