Whiz Kid: Madeline Keller Loves to Dance

Madeline Keller

• Accomplishment: Madeline is an accomplished ballerina who started dancing at age 3.  She studies ballet several days a week at Rose Marie Floyd School of Dance in Royal Oak, where she is a Cecchetti Grade 5 level student. She is a member of the Contemporary Civic Ballet Company, and has performed in five of their local annual productions of The Nutcracker Ballet.  She also danced in the 2009 Nutcracker Ballet at the Detroit Opera House with the Joffrey Ballet Company.  She auditioned for and won scholarships two years in a row for the Cecchetti International Summer School, which she attended the last two summers at Hope College. In addition to her dancing, Madeline is an excellent student in all honors courses as a freshman. She plays flute in the FHS Marching Band and has been in five FHS musicals. She is also involved with her church's youth program.
• Key to awesomeness: "I am really goal-oriented. I think about what I want and I work really hard to get there. I try to stay focused, confident and positive. My life is whatever I make it, and I don't want to look back and have regrets because I didn't believe in myself or try my best. I love everything I'm doing, and I'm so excited for my future!"
