Photos: Saturday's Storm Hammered Ridge Road in Pleasant Ridge

Patch took a ride through Pleasant Ridge to view the damage through Ferndale's friendly neighbor to the north.

Tree limbs and branches were piled high and the hum of generators was omnipresent in Pleasant Ridge on Tuesday afternoon.

The cleanup of a storm that blew through the area on Saturday evening, knocking down several trees and wires, was still in full effect on Tuesday afternoon.

Though debris was cleared from the right of ways along Ridge Road, chippers and chainsaws were still all out on Tuesday afternoon to clear debris from yards and curbs.

The Saturday evening storm had winds clocked at 70 mph, pulling down trees and wires throughout Pleasant Ridge. As of Tuesday afternoon, 411 customers were still without power in the 48069 zip code.

In Ferndale, the . DTE Energy reported that as many as 80 power lines came down in Ferndale. As of Tuesday evening there were still 1,600 customers without power in Ferndale.

DTE Energy's Vice President of Distribution Vincent Dow said that the company hopes to have the majority of its customers in the area restored by Tuesday evening.

DTE will also be on hand Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at in the Council Chambers located at 300 E. Nine Mile Rd. to answer questions residents may have about the storm and resulting outages.
