Need to Know: Live Green Fair in Ferndale This Weekend

The free, annual event will be held Saturday and Sunday in downtown Ferndale, featuring more than 100 exhibitors and speakers.

The third annual Live Green Fair and Home Show returns to downtown Ferndale this weekend.

The event will feature more than 100 exhibitors and speakers with products and tips to help you live a greener life and reduce your carbon footprint.

Here are the details:

  • What: Live Green Fair and Home Show.
  • When: 12-7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6; and 12-5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 7
  • Where: On Nine Mile Road in downtown Ferndale, on the west side of Woodward Avenue.
  • Cost: Free admission.

  • Demonstrations and displays on rain barrels, composters, worm composting and more.
  • Green energy ideas including displays of solar, wind and geothermal power generation.
  • Information on how to save money on energy bills with things like home insulation, super-insulating windows and doors and high-efficiency furnaces.
  • Check out natural soaps, vitamins, skin care and other natural products.
  • Enjoy free tastes of organic roasted almonds and organic kettle korn.
  • Exhibitors will be available to answer questions.
  • Attendees can register for a personal home inspection.
  • The first annual Michigan Health and Wellness Expo is also joining the event for the first time, with free health screenings and more offered inside and outside of Affirmations.
