Need to Know: 'Light the Town' in Ferndale Tonight

Enjoy holiday lights, music, hot chocolate and more Thursday in downtown Ferndale.

It's time to kick off the holiday season in Ferndale with 'Light the Town.'

Thursday night from 6-9 p.m., head downtown to see holiday lights, new window displays at local businesses and more. The event is organized by the Ferndale Downtown Development Authority as part of its Third Thursday initiative.

  • Enjoy music of the Chris Brass Brand- strolling through town and stopping into downtown Ferndale businesses.
  • Sip on complimentary hot chocolate served by Ferndale's Relay for Life Team in front of the Ferndale DDA.
  • Children can pick up a free glow stick at the DDA office.
  • Elegance by Design is hosting an open house, where residents can see the store's holiday decor and check out their new holiday home items.
  • Stop by Affirmations for the opening of their new show "Shower of Stoles."
  • Vote for your favorite window display in downtown Ferndale.
  • Stroll around town and see what you want to get and to give for the holidays.

Next up for holiday events in Ferndale is the annual Holiday Ice and Winterfest Market, which will be held Dec. 9, 10 and 11 in downtown Ferndale. This event includes the city's official tree lighting, an outdoor market with unique gifts, ice sculptures, photos with Santa, children's activities and more. Stay tuned for more details.
