Man Who Allegedly Bit Ex-Girlfriend Faces New Sexual Assault Charges

Witness testifies suspect tried to sexually assault her during alleged attack that included biting, choking and a threat with a box cutter.

A Detroit man who allegedly bit his ex-girlfriend in the head during an assault last month at her Ferndale home now faces a charge of assault with intent to commit criminal sexual conduct in addition to other charges.

Duoquan Blunt, 43, appeared in Ferndale 43rd District Court Monday, where the new charge was added, the Daily Tribune reports. Blunt’s former girlfriend testified that he attempted to pull down her pants during the alleged attack and also reportedly choked her and held a knife-cutter blade to her throat.

The attack occurred late the night of Dec. 17 and the suspect, who had a no-contact order against him, showed up at his former girlfriend’s home. Blunt was charged with felony assault, which carries a four-year sentence, and was on probation for a former domestic assault conviction at the time. He was also charged with second offense domestic violence.
