Ferndale Wins Curbed Detroit's Neighborhood of the Year

Ferndale took 65 percent of the vote in the finals against Detroit's Lafayette Park.

The results are official and Ferndale is Curbed Detroit's neighborhood of the year.

Curbed Detroit, a website dedicated to snarky real estate posts and other things of interest, hosted its first Curbed Cup challenge for best neighborhood. Eight 'hoods were nominated by readers and each one was seeded.

The breakdown looked like this: Corktown (1), Downtown (2), Midtown (3), Hamtramck (4), The Villages (5), Lafayette Park (6), Royal Oak (7), and, finally, listed as an eighth seed, Ferndale.

So we dropped in as an eighth seed and beat everyone, pretty handily. Ferndale beat Corktown, Hamtramck and, finally, Lafayette Park, to take home the fake gold, as Curbed said.

Congrats Ferndale on the big win!
