Ferndale has Plenty of Happy Hour to go Around

Here's a roundup of all your favorite eats and drinks, on the cheap, around downtown.

According to Internet lore, the term "happy hour" originated in the U.S. Navy during 1920s. It was what the sailors called a scheduled chunk of time where they boxed and wrestled each other onboard the ship.

The term had legs. It trekked through Prohibition as before dinner drinks at speakeasies, then through the '80s as a period of time at waterholes and restaurants for cheap food items that accompanied after work drinks. The idea? To fill the stomach with something other than booze for the drive home.

Today? We're lucky enough to have a whole bunch of places that offer discounted foods and drink specials for your happy hour needs - at all times of day and night.
