Nora Chapa Mendoza in person, at Laurence St. Gallery this Friday!

Mark your calendar for this rare chance to meet legendary Native American/Hispanic artist and activist Nora Chapa Mendoza whose murals and paintings can be found in public and private collections in Michigan, the US and throughout the world. The first reception is this Friday June 6th from 6-9PM, the second June 19th also 6-9PM. Subjects range from the plight of native peoples, to strong female figures and eye grabbing abstract land and seascapes. Her unique brushwork is the result of decades of hard work and study that began with her childhood in Texas. Stop in anytime now to preview her latest canvasses that will remain throughout June. The works of other notable artists will be at these receptions as well. Live music and refreshments. Admission free.
