Mulan Jr. travels back to storytelling days of Ancient China
Project DayDream is proud to present Disney's heartwarming and action-packed story that celebrates culture, honor, and the fighting spirit with Mulan Jr. Directed by company Founder and President, Tiffany Victoria Sims, with musical direction by Megan Higle, Project DayDream's production of Mulan Jr. will present two shows: May 9, 2014 (7:00 p.m. curtain)) and Saturday May 10, 2015 (2:00 p.m. curtain) at the Congregational Church of Birmingham (1000 Cranbrook Rd, Bloomfield Hills, MI 48304). Tickets are now on sale, and can be purchased in advance for $15 on-line at www.projectdaydream.org.
Defying the village matchmaker, Mulan (played by Sophie Erlich of Beverly Hills) takes up arms and disguises herself as a boy in order to spare her father from having to serve in the army. The Huns have invaded China, and it is up to the misfit Mulan and her mischievous sidekick Mushu (played by Grace Kruszewski of Royal Oak) to save the Emperor! The show includes a diverse metro-Detroit cast of actors ages 7-18 playing soldiers, family members, ancestors, and brides-to-be. The score includes favorites like “Reflection,” “Honor to Us All” and “I’ll Make a Man Out of You,” as well action-packed battles and plenty of laughs!
