DIFFA Has Designs on Detroit Sept. 26 - 28.

Just Added: Public Preview from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27 – $5 Cash Donation

The Michigan AIDS Coalition (MAC), in partnership with DIFFA (Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS), will present DINING BY DESIGN Sept. 26, 27 and 28 at the former Federal Reserve Building in Detroit. Presented by Opportunity Detroit, three events will unite the most talented and celebrated individuals in the worlds of interior design, art, and architecture. Guests will enjoy food, cocktails, entertainment, art and more than 30 stunning dining installations at each event.

A public preview of the DIFFA Dining by Design event space will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27. People can see 30 over-the-top dining installations and local art for a cash donation of $5 at the door (former Federal Reserve Building at 160 W. Fort).

COCKTAILS BY DESIGN

Guests will enjoy a feast for the eyes amidst innovative, soul-stirring designer tablescapes and room schemes created by Michigan’s foremost interior designers, artists and architects. Taste inventive and delicious food created by 25 top local restaurants. La Crema Wines and libations made with Patrón Tequila will be served. A much-anticipated silent auction will have patrons circling tables to get the top bid. Nick Bourgeau Quartet and DJ PowdrBlu will perform. ArtWorks for DIFFA

6-11 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, 2013

Experience 150 pieces of art created by some of Michigan's most illustrious artists and curated by ArtWorks Detroit, a team of professional artists who are dedicated to the fight against HIV. The original artwork featured at this event will go to the highest bidder in live and silent auctions. Guests will also enjoy 28 dining installations, elegant hors d'oeuvres, cocktails by Patrón Tequila, La Crema Wines, and live music by the Nick Bourgeau Quartet and DJ PowdrBlu. DIFFA: DINING BY DESIGN Gala Dinner

6-11 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013

The awe-inspiring tablescapes created by Michigan’s top artists, interior and industrial designers, and architects will become interactive dining areas. Guests will delight in a gourmet dinner prepared by the chefs of the Epicurean Group, including Coach Insignia, Gastronomy, Novi Chophouse and Northern Lakes Seafood. The DINING BY DESIGN Gala Dinner will feature La Crema Wines, Patrón Tequila specialty cocktails, an experiential auction with nearly 100 items, and a live musical performance by Ben Sharkey. Detroit is one stop on a multi-city tour, which in past years has raised more than $14 million for DIFFA.
