Turning Point, Inc, Macomb County's only domestic violence and sexual abuse shelter, announced it's joining forces with Macomb Co. Executive Mark Hackel to emphasize their shared concerns about stemming the tide of violence and abuse in the home.  Symbolic of this issue is an event which Hackel has supported in the past, the Turning Point-Tara Grant Memorial Walk/Run Saturday, September 29 in downtown Mt. Clemens, Michigan. 
Hackel spoke recently on the issues of domestic violence: "Fresh out of the police academy, I was told domestic violence would be one of the most common complaints I would be responding to.  During my 30 years of law enforcement, I recognize that still holds true today," said Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel. "What I've also come to realize is that Turning Point has been there every step of the way providing programs and resources for survivors of domestic violence."
