Nora Chappas Mendoza world famous Michigan muralist and artist celebrates her eightieth birthday with a one woman exhibition and book signing at the Lawrence Street Gallery."My Life Through My Paintings"

A proud "Techano" of indian and Spanish heritage Nora Mendoza has exhibited her art from Cuba to Egypt. A promoter of the rights of women and indiginous people she has traveled with Caesar Chavez, and presented her work to Fidel Castro. Her work is found in Michigan's capitol of Lansing and the private collections of Aretha Franklin and many luminaries.

Nora works out of West Bloomfield and has been active in the Art community for more years than I have known her. She has volunteered at innercity workshops demonstrating her lifelong passion for painting to young children. 

Her work is both breathtaking and evocative. Ron Wolf Royal Oak
