Grant Early Childhood Center is a preschool located in Royal Oak Township, serving Ferndale, Pleasant Ridge, Royal Oak Township and portions of Oak Park. The Ferndale Head Start program is run out of Grant, serving children ages three to five.

Amenities at Grant include an indoor movement area to grow motor skills, an outdoor playscape and in-class computers with age-appropriate educational software. Grant employs the High/Scope Curriculum, which puts focus on reading readiness in preschoolers.

Grant serves all children, resident and non-resident based on program eligibility standards, as well as those with special needs, and has extensive opportunities for parental involvement. The site supervisor for Grant is Kiada Watts, who can be reached at kwatts@ferndaleschools.org.
