Chances are you heard something about the Ferndale Volunteer Connection on Monday at Blumz by JR Design. That's okay if you didn't go. I might have shied away as well if Patch hadn't assigned me to cover it. But I was tapped for the event. In fact, I was asked to cover volunteerism in the city. So, what better way to kick off a column like this than to attend an event about volunteering. It was perfect, really.
