Oh man, what I week.  I really doubt I have to say why.  I've seen so many people weigh in on what happened this week, heard it everywhere I've went (which has resulted in me spending a lot of time locked up in the house), and I've just been emotionally raw from the whole thing.  It was a nice change today to be able to take Lilah to school and have her enjoy her Christmas party which my wife stayed and volunteered for.

Any time you forget how cute and awesome kids are and how much their innocence is still intact, here's a story for you to think of.  There is a little girl in Lilah's class who asked me to put her nametag on her today.  I agreed and leaned down to her level.

"Are you Leah's mom?"  She asked me.

"No, I'm Lilah's dad." I smiled.

Without saying another word she ran up and hugged me out of nowhere.  It was hilarious.  I pinned her nametag on her and she got back to playing.  And that, Charlie Brown, is the meaning of Kid-dom.

Today, for the Christmas party, the kids got to make gingerbread houses, decorate a christmas ornament with beads and pipe cleaner (very good for the fine-motor skills), and hear one of the other parents play violin.  All in all, though a bit overwhelming looking (even to me), it was a very good day.  My wife said our daughter had some moments, but it's something I've come to expect when Lilah gets overwhelmed.  She has a hard time processing things and then gets a bit over-emotional.  The kids also got to dance circle, apparently, which is something I've never gotten to see before.  Lilah was holding onto a little boy's hand so hard, he was saying "Ow."  It would seem she doesn't know her own teeny-tiny strength.

Not a lot else to report, I did some grown up chores while Lilah was at school and that was the last class until after New Year's.  It's going to be hard if I don't have things for Lilah to do as often as she had things to do in class.  So, if anyone has any suggestions, let me know.  Lilah (and I) will definitely appreciate them.
